We will be sharing some tips on how you can combat frizzy hair that will help you attain silky strands.
WHY IS MY HAIR SO FRIZZY?
There are a few factors that contributes to having frizzy hair, when your hair is dry, damaged or chemically treated, the outer layer of the strand know as the cuticle takes in moisture from the air, causing the hair to swell and frizz. Drier hair strands can mean that your using too much heat regularly can strip the moisture from your hair creating more frizz.
The cuticle is made up of little shingles where the layer ideally should lie flat, but they become open when damaged or exposed to moisture.
STEP 1: CLEANSE YOUR SCALP
When it comes to washing your hair, you need to determine how often this should be done. If your hair is prone to product build-up and you workout often you should wash your hair weekly using a clarifying shampoo to help get rid of all that build up on your scalp. If your hair is not prone to product build up you can wash your hair fortnightly. Hair washing should not be left more than three to four weeks and hair washing everyday is not necessary as daily washing can strip your hair of its natural oils, drying it out and causing frizz.
Select a shampoo that is tailored to what your hair needs, one of our favourite clarifying shampoo is by As I Am

If your hair is not prone to product build up and in need of moisture our favourite shampoo is Revlon Realistic Shampoo & As I Am Cleansing Pudding Creme of Nature Coconut Milk Detangling & Conditioning Shampoo.

STEP 2: CONDITION NOT TO BE MISSED
Never skin using a conditioner, our hair craves for moisture so this is an important step you should take. Only apply the conditioner to the strands of your hair and not near your scalp and leave the conditioner on your hair according to what it says on the actual product.
Co washing is a step that many should look to incorporate especially if your hair is dry and in need of TLC between washes. It will refresh your hair but it wont cleanse your hair, you will need to use a cleansing shampoo to get rid or build-up, but co washing is great to add hydration to your hair.
Our best co-washing product is Activilong Paris Co-Wash & M
